The Kemah Boardwalk

The Kemah Boardwalk is home to 60 acres of fabulous waterfront restaurants, charming retail stores, festivals and seaside shows every day. The Boardwalk is built entirely along the shores of Galveston Bay and hosts a collection of amusement rides and games. Experience the Boardwalk Beast, an incredible 25-minute thrill ride on Galveston Bay, cruising at top speeds up to 40 mph. During your cruise you will be blasted with wind, music, and plenty of entertainment. If you prefer a different type of thrill, come sweat bullets on Kemah’s one-of-a-kind wooden rollercoaster: The Boardwalk Bullet. This 96-foot tall ride has an exhilarating first vertical drop of 92 feet and speeds of up to 50 mph.

If rides don’t interest you, Kemah Boardwalk has a variety of other games and amusements. Feed and pet live stingrays and journey through the rainforest at the Stingray Reef & Rainforest Exhibit. Head towards the arcade for some classic fun. Or, kick back and relax as you soak in all of Kemah Boardwalk and miles of the surrounding Bay on the Boardwalk Tower, an observation tower that gently rotates and rises to the top.

When hunger hits, make sure to visit the Boardwalk’s biggest hit: the Aquarium Restaurant, an undersea-inspired atmosphere with massive ceiling-to-floor aquariums. There are also a variety of seafood restaurants and many other types of foods around the Boardwalk for you to enjoy.
